Overview
Thanks so much for your interest in joining the Moneythink Young Professionals Board. We are happy you're here. Moneythink recruits, trains, and places college students to serve as financial mentors in urban high schools and community centers. Since its inception at the University of Chicago in 2009, Moneythink has exploded into a national movement, with 28 universities nationwide encompassing nearly 500 mentors teaching over 2,000 high school students. Moneythink has received numerous accolades for its work and is funded by some of the most influential institutions in the world. As Moneythink continues its expansion nationwide, the organization is enlisting passionate and committed individuals to join its emerging Young Professionals Board to aid in the advancement of its mission to make financial capability a social norm through financial and career peer mentoring.

Ideal Characteristics of a YP Board Member
- Passion for the Moneythink mission and desire to advocate for the organization.
- Functional expertise/willingness to learn in area critical to Moneythink's continued expansion.
- Results oriented with a natural inclination to see projects to completion.
- Self starter with the ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Availability to participate in monthly YP Board update calls/meetings and project team discussions.

Expectations
Call/Meeting Attendance: each YP Board member will participate in 12 monthly conference calls per year.

Project Ownership: each YP Board member will aid Moneythink in at least one of the functional areas listed below. The YP Board will determine project topics, outputs, and checkpoints, in collaboration with the national office.

Advocacy: each YP Board member will take the opportunity to spread awareness of the organization and its mission within his or her professional and social circles.

Development Support: while Moneythink does not utilize a "give-or-get" clause, each YP Board member is expected to support the Board goal of raising $50k per year.
